My Daily Skincare Routine

For my 30th birthday, I treated myself to a much needed facial at Remedy Spa and stocked up on my favorite organic skin care products (by Eminence Organics.) I made a promise to myself as I left the spa, "Go home and stick to the routine. Take the ten minutes each day to wash, lather, rinse, exfoliate, mask and moisturize." After two months of consistency, my skin looks so much brighter and fresher. Here's the scoop on my daily routine:

Every morning I wash my face with Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser by Eminence Organics. My Esthetician, Noe, recommended this cream-gel cleanser with tea tree oil and cucumber to combat my hormonal breakouts. Even though I wash my face every night, the morning cleanse really gives me the "clean slate" I need to start the day. Next, I apply my Bright Skin Moisturizer SPF 30. It's light, hydrating and gives my skin the protection it needs from the sun. Because my skin tone is a little uneven, I picked this moisturizer specifically for it's skin brightening properties; Bearberry Extract, Licorice Root, and Stone Crop. Choosing a moisturizer with an SPF will keep your routine quick and easy to stick to; consistency is everything.

My evening routine is twice as long but I've learned to enjoy the process. I remove my makeup using Micellar water on a cotton pad (way cheaper than makeup wipes, no harsh ingredients and takes mascara off like a dream.) Then, I massage Stone Crop Cleansing Oil into my skin to help remove impurities. This cleansing oil is hands down my favorite product! It leaves my skin so soft and dewy, plus it smells amazing (I wish there was a scratch and sniff feature :)

Every two-three days I'll exfoliate. Using the Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant I'll gently rub the paste in small circular motions, focusing mostly on my cheeks, chin and jawline. This is the step where I can see an immediate difference in my skins appearance; especially after I put makeup on. My foundation looks much smoother when I'm exfoliating on a regular basis. However, exfoliating too roughly or frequently will most likely irritate your skin and leave it feeling raw, trust me!

To top it off, I apply a light layer of Clear Skin Probiotic Moisturizer that more or less has the same main ingredients as my morning face wash to help target my acne prone skin. Just the combination of those two products alone have kept my skin looking so much clearer than I've seen it in a long time. Last but not least, I use Neroli Age Corrective Eye Serum under my eyes, because well... that's one of the first places I've noticed fine lines. Sometimes I look REALLY tired, especially around the eyes (#momlife). Looking rested and vibrant is important to me which is why I had to add in this step. Within the first couple weeks of using this I noticed how much more refreshed my eyes appeared.

My skin is far from perfect, but I have every reason to feel good about the skin I'm in.
